John Daniels Sr (1751-1832) served in the Connecticut militia as a private in Colonel Thomas Grosvenor's Regiment. John Daniels Sr. was born in Pomfret, Windham County, Connecticut on December 10, 1751. He married Betsey Horton. They had eight children, four boys and four girls. John and Betsey lived in Rutland, Vermont until 1831 when they moved to Birmingham, Michigan with their youngest children, Clarissa and Hiram. John Daniels died on August 29, 1832 and is buried in the Greenwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Oakland County, Michigan.
