Hello and thank you for your interest in the Son's of the American Revolution! If you are interested in membership with the Jeremiah Clark Chapter of the Michigan Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, please start the process with the following simple steps:

      1. The Jeremiah Clark Chapter serves the Waterford-Clarkston and surrounding areas.
    3. Fill in as much detail of your family genealogy as you know. The application starts with you, Generation 1, and you'll identify your ancestors through to your Revolutionary War Patriot.
    4. The Jeremiah Clark Chapter Genealogists will help provide you with research resources and methods you can use as needed to help you document your ancestry through to your Patriot. Please note that we do not provide genealogical services to prove your ancestry, but we can help you with making sure the sources you provide will meet the National Society of the Sons of the Ameri can Revolution genealogical policies.
    5. If you want to review the Application Preparation Manual, it is located here on SAR.org -> Genealogy -> SAR Genealogy Policies & Materials -> Application Preperation Guide
  3. Each generation in your application will need to have copies of supporting documentation
    1. Please compile your documentation including source citations in digital format and also make copies of all documentation to provide to the Chapter Genealogist.
      1. These documents must accompany the application for approval with the National Society
      2. Here are some helpful hints in saving and/or printing documentation
        1. Documentation should have at least a .25" margin on all sides
        2. Documentation must be readable
          1. Illegible documentation will be rejected/unusable
        3. All documents should be printed on 8.5" x 11" paper (portrait or landscape acceptable)
        4. Do not write on any documentation (no notes or alterations from source copy)
        5. Do not staple printed documents
        6. Place all documents in order from generation 1 to the Patriot
  4. If your Patriot has been registered with SAR or DAR, you can purchase record copies from prior applications to prove generations. Please contact us if you have questions about ordering record copies.
