Jonathan Stratton (1765-1825) served in the Massachusetts militia as a private in Captain David Holbrook's Company, Colonel William Shepard's 4th Regiment. Jonathan Stratton was born in Sherborne, Middlesex County, Massachusetts on January 20, 1765. He married Ruth Foster and they had fourteen children. Jonathan Stratton died August 23, 1825, and was buried at the Stratton Family Farm in Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan. After his death, his wife and several of her children moved to Highland, Michigan. In 1894, his body was moved to the Stratton family plot in the Highland Cemetery located in Highland, Oakland County, Michigan.
