Esbon Gregory (1761-1845) served in the Massachusetts militia as a private in Captain Amariah Babbitt's Company, Colonel Benjamin Simon's Regiment. He later served in Captain Herrick's Company, Colonel Seth Warner's Regiment. As a sergeant he served in Captain Barnes' Company, Colonel Israel Capen's Regiment. Esbon Gregory was born in New Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut on January 29, 1761. He married Polly Sherwood and they had six children. He was shown living in Troy, Oakland County, Michigan, in 1837. Esbon Gregory died in 1845 and is buried in Union Corners Cemetery, Troy, Oakland County, Michigan.
