Jeremiah Clark Chapter Meeting Recap

The Jeremiah Clark Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution held its most recent meeting with a full agenda of recognitions, elections, education, and important chapter business. It was a productive and celebratory gathering that reflected the chapter’s continued growth and dedication to honoring our nation’s heritage.

Welcoming New Members
The chapter proudly welcomed three new Compatriots: Lincoln Malott, Scott Malott, and JW Bockckwalter.
President Ken Loudy administered the oath and presented SAR Rosettes, while 1st Vice President Eddie Howell explained the significance of the colors and what they represent. We are pleased to have these new members join our ranks!

The chapter’s recent Patriots’ Grave Marking and Plaque Dedication was recognized, and James Pabst was presented the America 250 Patriot Ribbon for his outstanding contributions to these ceremonies.

Certificate of Appreciation
A Certificate of Appreciation was awarded to Claire Kostun for her service and support.

Liberty Medal
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Liberty Medal to Compatriot Ken Loudy, recognizing his exceptional dedication and service. This honor, awarded by the NSSAR, is a testament to Ken’s tireless work for the chapter. Congratulations, Ken!

Program Presentation: Navy 250th Perspective
The chapter was honored to welcome Linda Lawson, who presented an excellent program on the 250th Anniversary of the United States Navy. She highlighted the Navy’s official birthday, October 13, 1775, and provided a fascinating historical perspective.

New Business
Navy 250th Birthday Cake Cutting
The chapter celebrated the U.S. Navy's 250th birthday with a ceremonial cake cutting led by Dave Decker and Claire Kostun.

Oakland County Patriots Artwork
Ken shared that Chief Judge Michael Warren is identifying a suitable location to display the artwork at the Oakland County Courthouse.

Mittens for Detroit – Kids Helping Kids
Lincoln Malott, MSCAR Chair, introduced the Kids Helping Kids mitten drive. Eddie contributed 25 pairs of mittens, and the chapter approved a $250 donation to support the project (motion by Ken, seconded by Mike).
