    Brittain Skinner (1765-1846) served in the Vermont militia as a soldier. Brittain Skinner was born in Athens, Windham County, Vermont on May 10, 1756. He was married twice. His first wife was Elizabeth "Betsey" Jordan and they had two children, two girls. His second wife was Sarah "Sally" Esterbrook and they had eight children, four boys and four girls. Brittain Skinner died September 29, 1846 and is buried in the Novi Cemetery in Novi, Oakland County, Michigan.
