The Jeremiah Clark Chapter SAR convened this month for a well-attended meeting that combined formal chapter business with meaningful recognition of members, partners, and community volunteers supporting the chapter’s ongoing mission—particularly its growing involvement in America 250 initiatives.

New Member Induction and Awards
The evening began with the induction of new chapter members, followed by a series of awards recognizing outstanding service and dedication:

The chapter further recognized volunteers who supported the Veterans of Lakeview Cemetery Project, presenting Certificates of Appreciation to Christine Rogers, Emma Redman, Ava Uballe, Maylis Bond, and Abigail Stephenson.

Chapter Reports
Routine chapter business followed, including the approval of November meeting minutes and reports from chapter officers covering governance, finances, dues, public relations, and membership. These updates reflected steady operations and continued growth in chapter outreach and engagement.

Special Events: Past and Upcoming
Members reviewed recent and upcoming events, many tied directly to America 250 commemorations and community education:
Wreaths Across America ceremonies at Great Lakes National Cemetery and Lakeview Cemetery
American Revolution Experience exhibits in Clarkston and Rochester, including an opening ceremony featuring the MISSAR Color Guard.

Upcoming exhibits and ceremonies such as Chasing Liberty, Road to American Independence, and Celebrating the Declaration of Independence.

Planned Flag Day and flag retirement ceremonies in coordination with local patriotic organizations.

Looking ahead, the chapter also discussed participation in community events including the Clarkston Fourth of July Parade and a planned grave-marking ceremony for Patriot Jacob Petty in September 2026.

Ongoing and new business
Ongoing business included updates on the Strength in Numbers food donations, Americanism reporting, and America 250 planning. The chapter emphasized its educational outreach through monthly chronicles and moments highlighting Revolutionary-era history, including frontier land conflicts in the Mohawk Valley.

New business addressed a generous donation from Mary Pardee, upcoming 2026 trustee appointments, new chapter chair positions, revisions to Patriots of Oakland County metal artwork, and discussion regarding the NARA Pension Files Project.
